ATI’s Los Angeles facility played a large role with restoration, reconstruction, and disaster recovery efforts during the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, which produced the strongest ground movement ever recorded in urban North America. Our Los Angeles team was at the ready after a small fire broke out during a floor-refinishing project, causing extensive smoke damage and fire damage throughout the church building.
As a leader in disaster recovery with extensive resources, ATI was able to assemble and dispatch a crew of 160 qualified technicians within 24 hours after contact to begin work. We provided 20 in-house supervisors professionally certified in odor control to oversee each phase of the recovery. Our technicians used state-of-the-art equipment and techniques such as thermal fogging to remove all smoke odor throughout the facility. To keep the church’s congregation fully apprised of the restoration progress, ATI’s project manager attended weekly Sunday services to provide updates and address questions and concerns. Despite the extensive hand cleaning and odor control work, ATI completed the project within the client’s 30-day timeline and budget.
