1989 – Gary’s Dream
After working in the insurance restoration industry for 15 years, Gary Moore decided to follow his passion and start his own environmental remediation company. With a business plan in hand, Gary met with several different banks to secure a loan to fund his new venture. Instead of walking away with a small business loan, Gary was advised to come back when he had an established business. Undeterred, Gary took out an equity line of credit on his home, and in 1989, American Technologies, Inc. was born. The company consisted of a three-person staff in a small office and warehouse in Orange, California.
1992 – First Expansion
Thanks to his technical expertise, marketing brilliance and commitment to customer service, Gary’s reputation quickly grew and so did the company. In 1992, Gary expanded his Southern California presence by opening offices in Chatsworth and San Diego.
1994 – New Headquarters
In 1994, Gary increased the company services to include 24-hour emergency response and restoration work. He moved the headquarters office to a 28,000 square-foot facility in Anaheim, California to house a small fleet of vans and trucks along with his growing staff.
1990s-2000s – Continued Growth
Gary continued to open new offices in the late 1990s and early 2000s to expand the company presence in Northern California as well as Arizona and Nevada.
2008 – Midwest Facility
In October 2008, we opened a 15,000 sq. ft. facility in Naperville, Illinois – 30 miles west of Chicago – to better service our Midwest customers.
2010 – Southwest and Southern Expansion
In 2010, we opened branches in Tucson, Arizona and Albuquerque, New Mexico to handle the needs of the growing Southwest market. In the fall of 2010, Gary returned to his home state and he opened an office in Dallas, Texas that now serves as headquarters for all of our Southeast operations.
2011 – National Presence and Recognition
With the addition of two New England branch offices in 2011, we became a true national company. In 2011, we were spotlighted for the fifth consecutive year by Inc. magazine as one of the 5,000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America. Additionally, Qualified Remodeler magazine ranked us No. 7 on its list of Top 500 for remodeling work and ENR California ranked us No. 21 on its list of Top 25 Specialty Contractors in California.
2013 – New Division, New Personnel, and New Office
In September 2013, ATI created a new Consulting Division. We have also hired a new Vice President of Sales and Marketing who will be responsible for growing our business. In December 2013, we opened a new office in Tampa, Florida.
2014 – ATI Celebrates 25th Anniversary
May 5, 2014 officially marked the 25th anniversary of American Technologies, Inc. 25 years in business is an amazing accomplishment and we are so grateful for all of our employees, customers and business partners who helped us achieve this milestone.
2015 – More Growth
In 2015, ATI opened new offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Seattle, Washington.
2016 and Beyond
In 2016, both our Sacramento and Los Angeles offices moved to much larger buildings. We opened new offices in Denver and Houston. Our 5 year plan is to open a new office every 18-24 months.
Today – Industry Leader
With more than twenty-seven years of experience, ATI is a national leader in restoration, environmental remediation and reconstruction. We are proud to be the nation’s largest family-owned restoration contractor. We have over 800 full-time employees and 19 offices around the country.
